A few times on here I’ve mentioned that I seem to spend the majority of my weekends as busy as I am during the week, albeit with far more enjoyable activities than work days, but there seems to be only a small portion of time left to just sit and chill. My days are taken up with the standard 9-5 – as much as I enjoy my job, who wouldn’t rather be free as a bird/ on the cusp of an adventure, ey? However last weekend was filled with the kind of busy that is always best. With a spontaneous trip to Centre Parcs on the cards, my weekend was filled with swimming, high ropes and table tennis as well as furry and feather-y little critters and a few loved ones.
I’ve been on many holidays with a certain close-knit set of family friends and many of them were to Centre Parcs. There was always more freedom there to ride off on our little bikes, whipping through the woods in a way that was the complete opposite to riding on the pavement in the city. Nowadays I might favour a trip to the onsite spa more than getting muddy by doing endless laps of the forest, but the charm of the weekend was still there. It’s funny how tiring spending your time off can sometimes be, but there’s always pleasure in the kind of tired you can be after a happy two days and the victory of table tennis – if only the victory had been mine!
